  1. What is a High Definition Music Download?
    High definition music downloads are the highest quality downloads available for your home entertainment center. The sound quality of this download is equal to a CD. It is a lossless digital file, unlike the MP3 which is compressed 7 times. The High Definition download is encoded in the WMA Lossless (Windows Media Audio) format.


  2. What type Music Files and Digital Rights Management Software does MusicGiants Use?
    The MusicGiants music that you download to your computer is in Window Media Audio (WMA) Lossless format. Lossless downloads reproduce music at up to 1100 kbps versus the 128 to 192 kbps of other download services. We use Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Management software to make sure all the music you purchase is safe and protected. For more information about Microsoft DRM, click here.


  3. What kind of Music is available on the MusicGiants Network?
    MusicGiants is the only High Definition download service licensed by the four major labels: EMI, Sony/BMG, Universal and Warner Music Group. New music is being added everyday from these and select independent labels.


  4. Do I need an account in order to browse the MusicGiants Store?
    No, but you do need an account and a valid credit card to download music from the MusicGiatns store.


  5. What type of internet connection is required to download from the MusicGiants Store?
    It is recommended that you have a broadband internet connection with at least 1.5 megabits of bandwidth.


  6. What is SuperHD?
    SuperHD content is equivalent to that of SACD and DVD Audio. It comes in 5.1 surround sound and stereo, and is encoded at 24 bit 88kHz or higher.


  7. When attempting to run Microsoft security component upgrade the up "Upgrade" box is light grey and unclickable
    Make sure you are attempting to access the security component upgrade site in Internet Explorer. If the problem still occurs in Internet Explorer please follow the directions here on resetting your Windows Media DRM system.

  9. Why are my downloads missing when using Windows Vista and Internet Explorer even though it says they completed successfully?
    This might be due to protected mode in Internet Explorer. It is recommended that you use Windows Media Player to access the MusicGiants store. Please contact MusicGiants support for assistance with downloading the files again.


  10. When using Windows Vista and Internet Explorer a message keeps saying to choose a valid download path.
    Please use Windows Media Player to download from the MusicGiants store.


  11. Where did my files download to?
    The default download location when using Internet Explorer in Windows XP is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music. When using Internet Explorer in Windows Vista the default download location is C:\Users\Shared Music. When using Windows Media Player in XP and Vista the default download location is the Rip folder set in the WMP settings which by default is the “My Music” folder.


  12. Why are the tracks that I purchased taking so long to download?
    Please be patient, due to the high quality files that we provide the files are much larger than low quality mp3 downloads. This may also be due to a slow internet connection.

    No, dial-up connections

  15. What operating systems does MusicGiants support?
    Currently MusicGiants is compatible with computers running Windows XP and Windows Vista. In the future we plan on supporting multiple platforms including Mac and Linux.


  16. What portable music players support MusicGiants content?
    Currently the Toshiba Gigabeat T series and mobile phones running Windows Mobile 5 and 6 support content from MusicGiants in lossless quality. MusicGiants content will work with any "Plays for Sure" device and Windows Vista. DRM Free content is supported on almost any portable media player through transcoding.


  17. What media players support playback of MusicGiants content?
    Any media player that supports Windows Media Audio Lossless files with Windows Media DRM will play MusicGiants content. Some common players are Windows Media Player 10 and 11, Winamp, and Real Player.


  18. Are there any regional restrictions for using MusicGiants?
    Yes, the MusicGiants service is only available to US customers at this time. In the future we plan on expanding our business to international markets.


  19. Is it possible to convert WMA lossless files to other audio formats?
    It is not possible to convert any DRM content to another format. It is possible to convert DRM Free content to any other format or bitrate.

  21. Are there any sort of membership fees associated with MusicGiants?
    No, there are no monthly, annual, or one time fees associated with MusicGiants accounts.


  22. What is the minimum amount of money that I can put into my MusicGiants account?
    The minimum amount that can be put into your MusicGiants account is $20. Once in your account you have as much time as you want to spend it.


  23. How much does MusicGiants content cost?
    Most tracks cost $1.29, and most albums cost $15.29 per disk. SuperHD albums cost $19.99.
